Welcome to the IELTS Writing section of Britfluency.
The IELTS Writing test lasts 60 minutes and includes two tasks.
In Task 1, you need to write at least 150 words. In the Academic test, this usually means describing visual information such as a graph, chart, table, map or diagram. In General Training, Task 1 is a letter.
In Task 2, you need to write at least 250 words in response to a point of view, argument or problem. Task 2 is worth more marks than Task 1, so it is especially important.
Good IELTS writing requires clear organisation, accurate grammar, appropriate vocabulary and fully developed ideas.
This page is here to help you understand the test, practise both tasks and improve your writing in a clear, focused way.
