Part 1 (4–5 min) – Introduction & interview

  • Is your area convenient for daily life? Why/why not?
  • How do you usually travel around your city?
  • Have transport options in your city changed recently? In what way?
  • Do you use any apps to plan journeys? Why/why not?
  • What do you enjoy doing to relax after work or study?
  • Do you prefer spending your free time indoors or outdoors? Why?

Part 2 (3–4 min total) – Long turn
Describe a place in your city where you like to relax.
You should say:
• where it is
• what it looks like
• when you usually go there
• and explain why this place helps you relax

Part 3 (4–5 min) – Discussion

Should access to nature be considered a basic urban service? Why/why not?

How important are parks and green spaces in large cities?

Should city planners prioritise cyclists and pedestrians over cars? Why?

In what ways can public transport influence people’s quality of life?

Do you think smart-city technologies make urban life better for everyone?

What are the downsides of rapid urban development?

How can governments encourage people to use public transport more often?
